Art therapy engages the creative process to facilitate self-exploration and understanding. Thoughts and feelings can be expressed in a unique manner, using art materials and techniques.
An art therapist is a supportive guide in a participant's creative journey. They provide a safe and supportive space where participants can relax, explore, and share their stories.
Art therapy offers a wide range of psychological benefits and can be adapted specifically for each participant to promote well-being at every age. An art therapist works with individuals, couples, families, or groups in a variety of settings.
Therapeutic goals will be set at the beginning of each session. They may include: stress reduction, socialization, interpersonal learning, guidance and/or the cultivation of hope.
If a client may benefit from other services in addition or in lieu of Rebel Art Therapy, referrals are available upon request.
Rebecca Young is a member of the Canadian Art Therapy Association and practices according to its ethical guidelines. For more information contact: www.catainfo.ca.
